A minority-business certificate opens a door. It does not walk you through it.
Firms that win contracts have pricing they can defend, compliance in order, insurance and bonding in place, working capital to float the job, past performance to point at, a teaming partner when the scope is too big, and an actual relationship with the buyer. The certificate is one line on that list.
This matters because certification programmes are frequently sold as the finish line. Treating them that way produces certified firms with no revenue, which then get counted as a success.
